Might as well jump on this might I.
Oldham 4 – 3 Millwall.
Entertaining if not heart attack inducing game. Oldham played well throughout but dropped some absolute howlers in defence. Crossley proved yet again that despite his experience he can still make errors a 12 year old keeper would. At one point we were 1-3 down with Millwall only registering 2 shots on target.
Some good well worked goals scored to win us the game.
Kept a clean sheet last night in the League cup against Dale despite playing with 10 men for 75 minutes so things are looking up on the defensive front.
Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday for the title decider. £27 disgusting.
The Crewe rollercoaster has departed from the station. We look forward to the ups and downs, the thrills and spills, and the constant need for reality checks. To quote Bill Hicks, 'life is just a ride' - well strap in because here we go.
Saturday saw Crewe hosting Brighton and ended up losing 2-1. The Railwaymen were absolutely shocking from the kick-off and it only got slightly better towards the end. Brighton, in all fairness, could and should have won that match by eight clear goals so there must be some positives in there for Crewe, surely. The positive points were that Collis was an inspired signing as a keeper, Joel Grant (MoM) was a breath of fresh air and Elding lifted the team as soon as he came on.
The league points were lost but did the coaching staff learn from the experience? Yes they did and you won't believe how surprised I am at admitting that!
Yesterday's cup match against Barnsley saw Elding in the starting line-up and Crewe actually looked like a team who could compete. Grant, Moore, Pope and Elding ran their socks off and kept the crowd royally entertained.
To run out 2-0 winners was easily enough to satisfy the increasingly bad-tempered Gresty Road End mob and earn a second round tie against Bristol City at Gresty Road.
I for one will welcome Nicky Maynard back to Gresty Road as he served us well, both on the field and in providing (through his transfer) the much needed funds to keep Crewe in the black.
Enough said. If Crewe run true to form we will have a disastrous day away at Carlisle on Saturday, although I really hope not.

well we rinsed Bradford in the cup on tuesday. As it goes Grandpa Stan was far from impressed with our performance against Stockport labelling us "rubbish".he spent the whole first half looking mighty cross with his arms folded, come the 2nd half they decided to waken up & banged 4 in so he must have given them the bad news at halftime.Colchester away on saturday & if we scrape a draw i'll be happy.
PS The midfielder Roberts we signed from Ipswich looks a very good player.
the F.B.I ought to hire Iestyn. He'd find Osama Bin Laden with his first kick.
Your defence was the worst I've seen from any side in this league since we rejoined it, simply terrible. We probably should have had 7 in all honest.
A positive was that the lad Grant looks very handy indeed.
Oh, and don't suppose you'll take that numpty Williams back will you?
Sounds very similar to our opener against Brighton last weekend. The Alex are reassuringly predictable.
Whilst the fans are happy with the investment up front (Grant, Elding, Zola) nothing has been done to improve the defence, which at times is completely useless and at other times plain crap.
Even a few games into the season it is apparent that Collis has far more to offer than Williams did so, no, you're stuck with him!

Elding was awful, he wandered around aimlessly for pretty much the entire game, I'm delighted we didn't sign him.
Mind you, the No.2 for you lot looked a pretty decent right back.

Surprises me about Elding, he was one of the few players to emerge from the Brighton game with any credibility and did OK against Barnsley as well. Supposedly he is not match fit but I would have expected him to be pretty much there by now.
The no.2, Danny Woodards is a reasonable player. He was transfer listed before the season because of his refusal to extend his contract. This is a typical ploy with Crewe to protect themselves against players going for nowt. No teams made an offer for him and I'm assuming he patched it up with Dario since he's still playing.
