Value for money
and no i didnt sneak my darts into the Keepmoat either!
Pity, cos I can think of a certain bloke carrying a flag who may have benefited from a rocket or two
Visited the Old Poets Corner at Ashover, Derbyshire yesterday. The Pub is home to the Ashover Brewery and the Poets Tipple went down very well in the afternoon sun.
Whilst in the area, a visit was also paid to the Nettle Inn, Milltown which you can't miss as it's painted PINK. Farmers Ale from Sheffield's Bradfield Brewery was the order of the day there.

A beautiful summer's day on the East Coast ( you don't get many of them ). On Monday evening, I revisited the Old Scalby Mill and sampled a peach of a golden ale, York Centennial.
Discovered a little gem of a pub on Tuesday of last week, the Valley Bar on Valley Road, Scarborough, where I sampled RCH Pitchfork and Brown Cow Nocturnal, both excellently kept.
This pub is also notable as being the Camra National Cider and Perry pub of the year and allegedly does the best fish and chips in Scarborough. The liver and onions looked and smelt delicious by the way.
Last week, I had a pint of Abbot Reserve, much better and more dangerous at 6.5, than Abbot Ale ;D at my local hostelry, followed by Mordue IPA at 5.1 (x2) and Burton Bridge XL Bitter, which suffered by comparison. The afternoon was a bit hazy
Was in there Saturday sheltering from the rain......as you do. Had a pint of something from the Fernandes Brewery (Wakefield) a micro brewery now owned by The Osset Brewing Company. Can't remember what it was called...but it was 6.2%, a light colour and had a picture of a flower stalk being clutched by a hand.....probably a metaphor for strangled beauty.
Anyhow it had a name that suggested regret in a hangovery way. Christ it would have been easier just remembering it FFS!
War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Can't fault yer.
In recent days have sampled Orkney Northern Lights, a Mauldon summer beer, Challenger Special ( Saltaire), a cracking chocolate coloured beer and a very tasty Sgt Pepper Stout from Spire, which has been laced with black pepper and you can taste it! Also yesterday evening it was Newby Wyke's White Sea and Derby's Pale Lady at the Arkwright arms, Duckmanton. I would give them all another go given half a chance
Am planning on a return trip to the Valley Bar in Scarborough this weekend, after the York match of course, as part of a weekend away. Hope the weather's naff
Sampled a further pint of Saltaire Challenger Special, together with a fruity pint of Oakham Helter Skelter, E & S's Eden, a pale citrusy blonde beer and a
moreish No Respect from the Black Hole Brewery, all at the Blue Coat, Rotherham.
Scarborough is out unfortunately due to being unable to find accommodation.
Good news for Scarborough, I feel, but not for me. Will have to be September then.
I digress. Have been sampling Black Hole Brewery No Escape, Saltaire Chocolate Stout, E & S's Top of The Hops and Moonbeam Rider.
