I guess its 4 from Douglas, Kilkenny, Prutton, Howson, Robinson, Johnson, Hughes, Delph or even Snodgrass. Even if you ignore the last 3 (and Sweeney and Sorsa) thats still 4 from 6 and whilst Johnson, for example, is left sided he's far from an out and out winger, so yeah you're right, though I think Robinson helps with goals and flair from midfield so teres more balance though still not much genuine width.

Depends on how other clubs view it I guess. Maynard scored 35 in 57 matches and Garner notched 14 in 34 matches I believe. I don't know whether those stats are relevant but it shows a better strike rate for Maynard.
However, I agree that Garner is a decent player and was surprised that he went so cheaply. I believe there was a release clause in his contract and also that a wedge of that money went to Rovers, so it is understandable that Carlisle may feel a little short-changed.
If the Alex website is to be believed, the club held firm on their asking price. The main advantage for Crewe of course is that Maynard came through the ranks at Gresty Road so there is no sell-on fee to be paid.

You going Saturday?
i'm working mate. robinson is a great signing, all class. johnson got better and better last season and howson should kick on with some big games under his belt last season

Definitely agree about Johnson. I think he has the makings of a very decent player.

You watch it on LUTV then Tad Rhino?
Managed to get down to Elland Road yesterday. Good game I thought. Robinson seems to have that thing we just didn't have last season. It may be in the past, but, if I feel if we had Robbo at Leeds last season, we'd have beaten Donny in the Play Off final.
Douglas did okay yesterday, yet it seems he's out of the door. Can't really complain at that. Don't rate him at all. Would have Delph, Prutton, Howson and Kilkenny in front of him. Rumours have it he's off to Burnley, or perhaps even Blackwell's Sheffield United. If we receive a bid of £300,000+ I'd snap their hands off.
Impressed by Showmuni yesterday, did fairly well in the first half, just needs to hit the back of the net for the first time; hopefully Scunthorpe on Saturday could be the start of an illustrious partnership between him and Beckford.
Hopefully Becchio manages to get a run out vs Scunny. Seems promising, sad that we didn't sign Haber, seemed decent from the games I saw of him in Ireland.
In Belgium, many expected to wipe Dender to wipe the floor with United, so to beat them so emphatically shows that Mac/Stan have got the team playing. We also played some sexy fast football yesterday. Very happy, role on the new season.

i was working till 6 mate. we look very good defensively too. huntington and marques look a good pairing. don't rate lubo though, been poor last season. we look a solid outfit and if we can score the goals i think we'll go up

Also look to have a midfield now that has more variety, creativity and goals in it.
Oh, and Tres pulled out of the friendly tonight - looks like he's off to Peterborough or Millwall.
Our midfield:
Howson (Just like a certain Mr McAllister), Prutton (Similar to Batty, run all day and has ability too), Johnson (Similar in many ways to Gary Speed), Robinson (small, great feet, desire to get stuck in, a bit like Strachan).. See a pattern here?
Is McAllister trying to model our midfield on our 1992 title winning season midfield?
As far as I'm concerned, promotion is a must. Whether via the Play Offs or the top two. Anything else would be a failure. This has the makings of a superb season. Roll on Scunny...
