Another victim of speaking out against Gibby? One thing about the Blue Jays organisation is that you need to be a team player and that includes sitting your backside on the bench when you're not performing (even if you are a future hall of famer). I personally think that was the main reason for him going, despite rumours that it was to do with his back end loaded contract and saving us $10M. After all, we're still having to pay out almost $8M this season for a player we no longer have.
So, who to fill in at DH? I expect Stairs and Barajas for now, with Lind probably coming up from the minors at some point.

I love the start of the basball season, the rlfans canadian contingent post happily when they win a few, then have a years absence when they realise thye have no chance of the playoffs.

And what are the yankees going to do this year then? Another 1st round exit?

Gibby makes another baffling decision by resting Vernon Wells today against the Tigers, just one day after we release our DH. If we had Rolen fit and some of out other bats firing it might be OK. But instead of having a chance to win the series 3-1, he plays a weakened side, seemingly satisfied that we've got 2 wins. He does this all the time and it's pissing me right off. We're only 3 weeks into the season FFS, Vernon shouldn't need a rest.
Jays tank 5-1 at home to the Tigers.

Just been a classic on PTI. A Red Sox fan sat at the front of the upper deck makes the catch of his life with this foul ball, celebrates like he has won the world series and then hit his hand on a rail and proceeds to drop the ball.
Search TouYube for "Fan Catches Foul Ball, Drops It 30 Seconds Later"
Move on, nothing to read here.

Blues Jays are going down faster than a virgin on Prom Night. Gibby has completely lost the plot, fielding 3 catchers in last night's line up, none of them with a particularly trustworthy bat. I know that Diaz is getting sent back down to AAA but we're really not in a position right now to debut a kid just for the sake of it....and if we had to debut him, we could have at least let the poor bugger catch. Gibby had him DH'ing FFS! I have a 'slaps forehead' moment every time I see our line-up lately.
