Ricky is a huge draw and everyone wants to fight him. Ricky will pick out the very best fighters, but also the ones who are likely to draw big money all over the world, particularly in America. Witter simply doesn't do that at the moment, despite his credentials in the ring.
Witter needs to stop whining and do his business in the ring and I'm sure Hatton will look up and take him more seriously. It only takes one big win to propel you on to the world stage. Look what the win against Kosta Tszyu did for Ricky.
Hatton and his team have never fancied the Witter fight, that has nothing to do with commercial reasoning, it is purely because Witter is a smart operator who has all the tools to give a come forward, easily hit fighter like Hatton all the trouble he needs.
The shame is that that takes away what the British public want to see.
Harry Callahan: I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky?....Well, do ya punk?

Worst post, ever. Hatton and his team dont fancy fighting Witter but are more than willing to fight the best pound for pound fighter in the world in Mayweather at a weight unfamilar to Ricky? Witter simply hasn’t done enough to be considered a challenge for Hatton at this stage of his career. The bad mouthing of Hatton has left a bad taste in Rickys mouth, I am sure the last thing he would want to do is give Witter the mass publicty and money on the back of his name.
Plus the garbage about the British public wanting the fight, says who? There are quite a few boxers out there I'd rather see Hatton fight before Witter. The only reason Hatton fans want the fight is to shut the gobby c*nt up.

He's our midfield magician

Do the Samba beat tonight
He is class, he sh*gs brass
And he sh*ts on Fabregas

He was beaten senseless in that fight. If the ref did affect his game it certainly didn't cost him the fight.
And most genuine fight fans that I speak to WOULD like to see Hatton vs Witter.
Indeed, for some reason Hatton and his camp though PBF couldn't punch and didn't have an appitite to go to war, the fact was that Hatton was that poor he couldn't even get on top when he tried to get in PBF's face and make it a war.
Witter could make Hatton look a little silly, the reason he won't fight him now is because after all these self proclaimed years of being number one he will look like a fraud if Witter takes him apart.

The reason he won't fight him now is because after the Mayweather fight, he knew exactly who he was going to fight in his next two.
The 'homecoming' fight with a hand picked opponent that will bring out the best in Ricky and rebuild his confidence after his defeat, and then on to realise another of his dreams topping the bill at MSG.
Can't see any way in this World how Witter will make Hatton look silly. He'd be an awkward opponent with his style and Rick has struggled in the past against Southpaws, but to suggest Witter could make him look silly and take him apart is laughable IMO.
For Witter to do that, he'd have to be better than Mayweather IMO, which he clearly isn't!

Who has Witter beaten that is any good? Whilst Hatton was beating the likes of Kosta Tsyzu, Juan Urango and Luis Castillo, Witter was fighting next to nobodies such as Lynes and then he just about beat Corley in a borefest. His last fight was better, but Harris is not in the class of Tsyzu, Urango or Castillo.
I've no doubts Ricky would outclass Witter, a guy that is getting hyped up over very little. Torres is a more exciting fighter than Witter and it's someone Ricky will be going for in future, certainly before Witter.

I thought Marquez should have got it. He made Pacman look like a chump for most of the fight.

Couldn't pick a winner, though Marquez perhaps landed the more telling shots. There'll be some sore heads today, and a couple of plastic surgeons with a lot of work to do. I've not seen that much blood in a ring for some time.

Despite a loss, Witter made Zab Judah (when Zab was on the up-and-up) look silly after being given only 14 days notice of the fight.
He's improved out of sight since then (a loss to a big name can often be the catalyst to huge improvement). And he can bang.
Right now there are several question marks against Hatton.
Can he recover mentally from the beating PBF inflicted on him?
Is he in decline? Hatton seems to have gone downhill since the Tszyu fight. Can this be put down solely to fighting out of his weight or not?
Witter is four years older than Hatton, but if anything he's heading in the opposite direction. Some fighters hit their peak in their 30s (Calzaghe and Hopkins spring to mind) whilst others blow out before their 28th birthday.
