The Ferry at Cawood is on my list to visit as is the Eight Jolly Brewers at Gainsborough.
Where is the other Pub you refer to? We passed something on the trip on Wednesday with a curious name (not dis-similar to what you have mentioned) along the road on the east side of the Trent.
The Jemmy Hirst is at Rawcliffe. It's slap-bang next to the Ouse, well-protected by a flood bank, but a b**ger to find. If you look for the Royal Oak and then take the road by the river, the JH is on your right. They could really do with signposting it.
Was in there last night and had a couple of pints of Rudgate's aptly-named Good Choice. Spot on as ever.
I'm not sure which pub you're talking about but it does sound worth a visit
Footnote:
Googled it! Bet this is the one, especially as it's "Jenny" as opposed to Jemmy.

I was going to call in after the game but got waylaid in the hospitality suite in the new stand drinking electric pumped Tetleys. Still the presence of the Challenge Cup, SL trophy & WC trophy which were on show were compensation. Had a few better pints of Tetleys in the supporter's club before the game, observing some of the well-known posters on here trying to play pool.

They wouldn't have been for me but each to their own. I was pleased that you recommended the Prince of Wales.
