Zod - you've managed to completly discredit yourself.
I'm not saying the deal was possible at all.
Justin Morgan goes about every avenue he can to make sure he's bringing the most suitable players to the club. This involves gaining as much information as possible through other coaches who have worked with players before. In Berrigan's case, the obvious choice to speak to would be Jon Dixon, who spent several years coaching Berrigan at Brisbane. In this instance Jon Dixon mentioned what were descibed as "home truths" which put Justin Morgan off pursuing any interest in the player.
You have to remember that Berrigan's agent touted
every SL club (as any agent worth his salt would) to see what they would offer and as it turned out, Hull FC were the only club prepared to offer him a four-year deal at such a late stage in his career.
What part of this process do you think would not happen?
1) Do you not think Berrigan's agent would tout every SL club to get the best deal for his player?
2) Do you not think Justin Morgan would speak to coaches who have worked with players he is considering trying to sign?
You have to appreciate there are reasons why Justin Morgan has delivered the rate of progress he has, and his recruitment processes have delivered a hell of a lot more hits than misses, hence our meteoric rise...
