SOme big trades this week, Gasol to the Lakers makes them an instant contender, Shaq traded for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. I get the feeling it could be a very busy deadline in a couple of weeks.

Both ridiculous trades.

The Lakers and Heat have pulled off amazing trades. Shaq can't jump, defend, shoot, dunk or anything whereas Marion is a very good player. If he is as bad a locker room influence as is made out then i'm sure they could have got a better trade.

Gasol is quality also as opposed to Kwame Brown going the other way.

The grizzlies have shedded alot of salary at the same time though.

I fancy the Celtics with Pierce and Garnett. Allen is having a good season too.

I'm a little bit miffed that Jose Calderon didn't make the coaches pick to play in the All Star game. He's one of the best PGs in the NBA right now - even the Yank sports shows are saying that and they never talk about Toronto or its' players.

Nice to see TJ Ford back in action for the Raps after a massive injury scare and a fairly long lay-off. I know that a repeat of Divisional Champs wont be on the cards this year but I reckon we're still on for a wild card spot.

Kidd traded to Dallas, the teams in the west have made big moves to try and become front runners in the conference, Dallas now have the 3 pronged attack to match the Celtics.

Kidd
Howard
Nowitski

Wasn't a done deal as of last night because one of the players being traded to NJ ( Devean George) has a no trade clause in his contract, which he activated. Can't see it blowing the deal, but it might take a bit longer to work out. Fortunately this didn't come out until late last night which worked well for us as NJ didn't play Kidd, thinking he was pretty much a Dallas player already. We then proceeded to wipe the floor with NJ. :D
