If you say so. I'd have blamed the saints fans of course.
when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.

I'm glad I read this, it gives me chance to call my grandad and tell him that he best not go to the game this afternoon as he'll have nowhere to park his car, I guess he'll be surprised as he's done it without problems for 20 odd years since his motorbike got stolen from Odsal, but I don't want him to have a wasted trip.

The Dunny's parking, right over the road from the stadium, surely scores at least 9/10. Especially as after the game you don't have to "cross a road" as it becomes a closed "no-road" temporarily.
On the last "big new plan" they had for Odsal, they finally twigged that they could build perfect car parking at the SE of the stadium (Coral Stand end) and include a new link road to and from the M606, so traffic effectively came straight off and went straight back on to the motorway. Needless to say, as one of the best (and most obvious) ideas, it has rapidly bitten the dust.
Much as I hate VP, and the parking is as bad as it gets, I'd have to say French Connection UK any 'annoyed' residents. There is no resident alive who didn't move in knowing full well they were moving in next to a major football ground. On a much smaller scale, we have the same problem at Odsal. Some of them are that contrary, they seem to make a point of driving into Stadium Road, right when all the pedestrians and cars are leaving the stadium.

Ah apologies ... maybe you should have stuck down the key points you wanted to hear in response and more of us might have had a fighting chance.
You asked why VP meant what it does considering what happened. I told why VP means what it means to me .... sorry if it didn't fit your proforma.

Seems you have missed the point. The residents don't have a problem with City fans and didn't have a problem with Bulls fans.
It was Bulls fans who had "issues" with the residents.

I was doing the petition for odsal/surveys/try for odsal etc along with andrea etc and i never heard anything against the residents around VP.. more to do with the area, stewards and parking.
af wrote:BM, I think you make some good points. However, I believe the situation boils down to this:
If Bulls were to move to VP permanently, they would not be viable as a top flight rugby league club.
If Bulls stay at Odsal as it is, they will sooner or later not be viable as a top flight rugby league club.
Bulls have no realistic means of developing the stadium without Council backing.
It is in Bradford Council's interests to have the Bulls continue as a top flight rugby league club.
Do you disagree or take issue with any of the above statements? Should Bradford Council allow another of the city's sporting institutions go to the wall when we know that with the right facilities they can more than pay for themselves in the long run?
.
I kind of accept what you are saying apart from possibly point 4.
I used to watch the Bulls regularly but gave up after all the garbage surrounding VP, the final straw coming when my mate was asked to sign the Try for Odsal petition at St Helens and when he said he'd prefer to stay at VP he was greeted with Eff Off Pa*i ( he was actually Indian ).
Anyway in answer to your question, I'm not sure but maybe .......
1. Lose the roof from the scheme and it may be financially viable.
2. The Bulls make a financial contribution to make up the shortfall.
One more question : How will the Bulls be able to afford the running of Odsal Stadium post OSV ( should it happen ). If they can't afford it now what's going to change in future ? Are they proposing to renew the terracing and other parts of the stadium as part of the project so the Bulls don't have to in the near future ? If so, what's the timeline for the next bout of finger pointing and blame shifting ?

Come on Liane, you telling me you didn't see any of the posts on any of the message boards at the time ?
.... and out of curiosity what do you mean by "area" ?

Tool.
How odd. Not only do you inexplicably opt to see some personal slight in a reply I made to someone else, you ALSO are the first person to start calling people names. And to a moderator no less.
All round it seems like you screwed up royally with that post; I'd rather you didn't do it again.
