Cooper is pretty much signed for 2009, behind the scenes Wigan are trying to make it 2008, SC and staged payments will help but is no guarantee..

Nothing is final, but Cooper wants to sign for Wigan to play alongside Trent, the only thing in the way is £££££ which can be staged.

I'd be very surprised if Wigan were prepared to go down the staged payments route again. That's the reason we only had £140 grand left for this year.

Can't believe people are still on about Cooper for this year. There isn't a chance in ehll unless he's willing to play for 30k.

Maybe next year but not this.

Don't see the problem with staged payments if it is a planned thing rather than a panic measure. It was down to it being a panic measure we ended up in the state we have and of course due to the "credit note" being staged over four years.

That said I am sure this latest Cooper rumour is a red herring. If there was even a remote chance he was coming this year the club would not have signed Carmont IMO until the proposed deal with Cooper was defintely a no-goer.
