I wonder if people are on the Manly board giving them a hard time about signing DV. I've been watching Wigan since the 70's and if I was to put together a worst ever XIII, DV would be one of the centres. If Carmont looks at least 25% interested and can put one winger away with one good pass he will have done more than DV in 3 seasons. Dv bucked up a bit in the last 6 weeks or so, but don't forget how shite he was for the rest of his contract.

Btw since when was 29 "old"????
He will be 31 when his contract expires. Hardly ready for the grave!
I agree but it is hardly a signing for the future either, our hands were tied i guess with the finances but i just wish we could have got him here on a 1 year deal.
I would think that we would have him cheap not least because of the exchange rate at the momment, which is why i think our final signing will come from Australia also.

Funny I thought Coley, Fielden & Feka where descent props. I was also under the impression Prescott & O'Carroll where descent youngsters who are going to the world cup. Must be mistaken.
Being a Saints fan do you want to borrow some money to help pay off your debt?

All relativley unknown players that werent classed as superstars who all came to Bradford & won Super League titles & Challenge cups during their time there. Pretty sure that Brian Noble had something to do with the signings of some of them & would have learnt from previous coaches i.e Brian Smith & Matthew Elliott about getting the right "Combination" of players with the right "Attitude" to join your club rather than the Mercenary type that we may have signed over the last few years. From memory I dont remember him assembling too many Bad squads at Bradford and making too many bad signings either!
As for being as good as Vaeliki then basically if he can catch/pass/tackle and score more than 1/2 dozen tries in a season whilst only being on about 1/3rd the money then I for one would rather have him here than Jethro "Bandy Legs" Bodine Vaeliki!
100% agreed, from the link given there is a very mixed opinion of him in Australia but the all round opinion seemes to be that he's a solid player and gives 100% every week. Which is more than can be said for Mr Vaealiki. He's got to given a chance, like said, you cant expect every signing to be the Matt Cooper's of this world, and the GF winning squads that Noble built wern't exactly full of all-stars.
As said already as long as he comes over and looks interested in catching, tackling and running he's pretty much there. I'm all for not looking to try and out bid everyone for the 'stars' its about time we got a bit of balance and players wanting to play instead of just turning up because we were the ones offering the biggest bucks. Don't get me wrong all teams need a name or 2 which we already have now we need to pad the team out with solid hard workers as well and bring the young guys through. Roll on 2008 and we'll see how we do.
