PAUL COOKE Good enough but not as good as he is made out, needs quality backs to be able to do anything, will never break the line and needs a halfback partner who will complement him by being a line breaker JAMES WEBSTER, seems adequate but not really the type of player who will bring the best out of Cooke

MAKALI AIZUE Distinctly average MICHAEL VELLA Very good DAVID TANGATA TOA Very average DANNY WARD Rightly sacked by Leeds, shouldnt have played again, has gone down hill from when he was at Leeds and even then he was only a workhorse and not a star player STEVE SNITCH (HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS) why would you pick Steve Snitch of all players, average at best

BEN FISHER OK, probably comparable to Diskin, nowhere near Drew, Cunningham, Roby or Newton though MARK LENNON as above but not as good as Diskin

TOMMY GALLAGHER Should be moved forward to Prop, i wish good things for Tommy cos he is a very nice guy but he isnt a top 6 SL quality Lock STANLEY GENE you cant build around Stanley Gene he is at least 103 and cant play forever OUT:

Looks a good player to me aswell! someone earlier reckons he hasn't been training to well lately and thats the reason he hasn't been getting a game recently. Needs more game time, especially as Ford seems to be out of form at the moment.

Would like to see Bauer replace Ford at the moment. If it is the case that he hasnt been training well then i hope he knuckles down quickly, i rate this guy alot!

FFS Smokey, what do you expect in our first season in SL? We are trying to build for the future, we have alot of players in which this is their first season in SL. Whoever is promoted from NL1 are way behind teams in SL in terms of recruitment. You can, but I think it's a little early to be judging players with only half a SL seasons experience in them.

Not often I agree with B&W's but to be a top 6 side we need to change a good 60% of our squad. Too many people treat the players at this club at a level way above what they actually are.
If JM was given cart blanche to sign a squad within a full salary cap, he would probably keep no more than half a dozen of the current squad. He built a squad to get us out of NL1 and to be the nucleus of a squad to KEEP US UP and to do this he has had to bring in several players that were 'available' but probably not his first choice. If we do stay up we are going to have to recruit heavily for next season as ALL the other clubs will be as well.
Next years recruitment will be key to survival again as it will be at least 5 yrs before we can hope to challenge for a top 6 place.
JM said in an interview before the season started that his three year plan was to survive, consolidate and challenge. I think it will be survive, survive and franchise, then we can look at pushing on.
