After reading a thread on the Mods board, I've added rule 11 to the code of conduct:
Quote:11. If you feel it necessary to attempt to evade the swear filter, then it is necessary to reword your post. Children do use this forum and the level of profanity must be kept to a minimum.
Getting older is mandatory; growing up is optional.

Its a bloody forum not a nursery! I really don't see the problem unless its excessive!
The people complaining are probbaly the same sort of people who spend their time writing to tv companies about adverts that offend them for absolutely no reason.

Where I'm concerned it depends what mood I'm in, where I am on the Sober <-> Drunk scale and whether it makes any sense or not.
Getting older is mandatory; growing up is optional.

The following note has been added to the code of conduct:
Quote:A moderators charter has been put in place by the admins effective from 15th January 2007. This basically defines a structure for the forum and entrusts the moderators with enforcing the AUP across the site. One aspect of the structure is the introduction of a forum leader (in our case this is me) who is a prime contact for admins, takes responsibility for the moderators, is a point of escalation for users and has final say on a decision should it be necessary.
For the record, this won't change the way we work as a team of mods, it will simply apply a bit more organisation to our function.
Getting older is mandatory; growing up is optional.
