Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Hmm. Suppose so. Not sure exactly what though.

Went after the Keighley v Strela Kazan game. Had to take the next day off work as I daren't put myself more than 25 yards away from the dunny, just in case.

Having fished whatever it was out of the curry, I wasn't about to examine further.

Omar Khan's (near the ice rink) is really nice with tablecloths etc, but it might be a bit small for 12.

There's always Anams, Mumtaz and Ambala, up Great Horton Road. I can vouch for Mumtaz and Anams but I've never been to the Ambala.

The Ambala's quite good, but I still mourn the loss of the Cafe Italia and only wnet in on the opening week.

When my club didn't exist it was still bigger than yours

Did that one used to be called Pakeezah?

The Pakeezer in Leeds Road has been refurbished and renamed the Saffron. Still a good varied menu but now swish inside and with own car park across the road. Well worth a shout.
IMO if you're taking a party to a restaurant and you don't want to dissapoint them by your choice - Mumtaz is still impressive in decor and food. Bit pricey (i.e. compared only with other Bradford places) but good value and consistent quality. A table by the glass frontage has impressed more than a few London clients.
For a familly Do, I would suggest the 3 Singhs, 254 Sticker Lane on the ring road. Years ago used to be the Stickler pub.
Great access and parking, good food and prices and the best ambience in the city - great service, Asian chic decor, light and spacious, welcomes kids and will tailor a menu for them.
Not a drunks area
We use the early bird times a lot. 5pm - 6.45 it's BOGOF time.
Mondays their take-aways are half price, can fill your freezer for the week!

I can sum the experience up in one word:
WHITEY

Absolutely agree with that. It's why Akbar's and Mumtaz especially in Bradford are full of the Leeds Crowd entertaining there.

I was hoping to go there this wkend...ahh well its choosing somewhere else!

Aakash is gone, thanks to Bank of India, but no loss IMO.
Too late they offered table service to their customers. Buffet service is not condusive to a group's night out where too many times some have to leave to collect their own food - at £15+ per head.
And having a table in the "Gods" meant a route march up and down stairs balancing your chosen fare. My predeliction for a few Lal Toofans made this task daunting if not dangerous.
Food nothing special anyway.
Hear that having to build a two storey car park to comply with original planning consent was the financial killer.

Regret to say that the best restaurant in our travels this last few months was not in Bradford, it was the NOOR on Leeds Rd, Huddersfield - right outside the Galpharm.
Went there after the last Bulls match.
A bit Whitey in colonial decor but top class for quality in a good range of traditional menus. Freshness of taste was outstanding.
Taken over by Raz Kahn, a retired police inspector from Bradford a little while ago, he's on the ball with customer service and the kitchen.
Prices are good and the portions are enormous. £70 including copious drinks, sambucca and coffees. They bagged our left overs from a meal for 4 that went through the card, and that gave me 3 microwave meals at work.
