Psssh. Mumtaz schmumtaz. It ain't what Bradford curry houses are about, IMHO. And 5 thumbs down for the Nawaab. Not only does it pretend to be posh, both times I have been there I've waited over 2 hours to get my food, and one of the times it was the wrong dish. GRRR!

I tried Mister Khan's out the other night (just above International on the opposite side of Morley Street) and it was OK, nothing special and the fact it had a tv blaring out some music channel or other means it's somewhere I probably won't be visiting again, even though I find International a bit hit and miss I'd still rather cross the street and go there.

Slightly off-topic, and totally against the spirit of this thread, has anyone been to the Cocina Mexican restaraunt on Manningham Lane in recent times? I've made a pledge to myself to eat things other than curries when dining out in Bradford and that's somewhere I've always fancied trying.

One of those places I've always meant to go but have never got round to it. Apparently it's good but a bit 'Tex Mex'; I imagine authentic Mexican cookin is a bit hard to track down in Bradford...

I think it's very good. I've not been for a year but I've never had a bad experience in there. The enchiladas are excellent.

I've been in with two Americans now at different times and both rated it, though it wasn't as hot as either were used to.

Not been to the Coccina for years but I liked then.

A further endorsement for Omars here, very good Chicken Masala for me as per usual, and as her first experience of curry, my German friend enjoyed her Vegetable Korma, though it did embarass me to order it!

I blame the 5 pints though.

Took my folks a few times to Cocina when I first moved here in the early 90's. It was excellent then but seemed to go down hill for me. Haven't been in for years.
It will always go down in family history though. I ordered nachos with dips, the big one where you all dig in. The old man, being a meatn2veg type, was a bit confused, he proceeded to eat the nachos with his knife & fork, dipping them in the dips in a 2 handed chopstick stylee. He then grabbed the whole jalapeno pepper from the middle of the serving plate & ate the lot. He'd never seen one before. Laugh, I nearly paid the bill.
