Thought I'd start a new thread as the old one seems to have died a bit of a death and was making the place look untidy.
Visited the Westgate this evening and was a little disappointed, the Onion Bhaji's were nice and crispy and, although my Chicken Masala contained a fair portion of meat the taste was a bit bland.
My friend has some vegetable effort (dopiaza I think) and she claimed it was a load vegetables chucked into a thick tomato soup, and looking at it I think she may have had a point!
Some people I know swear by it, others can't stand the place - I'm undecided after a couple of visits and think I'll leave it a while before I go back.

I've not had a bad curry in there, but I've only been 3 or 4 times. I imagine like most of the Manningham curry places there's a fair amount of variability. Just a question of luck really.

The Westgate is utter poop.
IMHO of course.
Ok... I'm being overly harsh since I've only been once but I wasn't impressed. Too many other really good curry options in Bradford for me to bother wasting my time again at a place that was such a huge disappointment.

AP is less than 0.5% interested in the substandard Stupor League. England's substandard performances in the RLWC08 saw to that.

The best at the moment has to be the Punjab Sweet House and Grill Centre on Listerhills Lane, a sensible distance from the fighting Cock. Seems to be the real deal with lots of Asian families, Sihk and Muslim eating there. The K2 on Lumb Lane has been a favourite of me and my mates for years but I haven't been for a while.

I reckon so.

I've got it on a good source that the K2 next door is the better bet nowadays, I'm sceptical - I used to be a regular at the Sweet Centre after football and never came away disappointed.
