Culturally we have far more in common with France and Germany than we do the USA - and I don't mean the MTV culture. Despite the fact that we've been fighting them on and off for hundreds of years!

Americans are annoying but I don't really dislike them, more pity them I'd definitely prefer to meet an American than a Frenchman or a German that's for sure.
