How did we go today? Nice to get back to winning ways anyways

Still not a perfect performance but a vast improvement on recent weeks. Jason Mossop, Tim Bergin and Mike Burnett all came into the side and played well, particularly Mossop who had a stormer. Menzie got two tries, Peter Green, Craig Cook and Brendon scored the others. Tim Bergin kicked 2/3 and Brendon missed both his attempts at goal, I can't believe we've got this far into the season still not having a recognised goal kicker, it's laughable really. Everyone put a reasonable shift in today with the possible exception of Tangi who's head appears to be somewhere else. Completion rate was better and there were less handling errors so at least we are improving. We counted 17 Eagles fans which is embarrassing and dreadful but perhaps not altogether surprising given our recent form. There was a short ceremony before the game to commemorate the lives of those tragically killed in the Cumbrian shootings where the wife of Garry Purdham released twelve doves and Garry Purdham's kids led out the teams. There was also a minute's applause AND a minute's silence which I didn't quite understand, the whole thing was very morbid but also very appropriate. Just as an aside Cumbria is still obviously recovering from the events of a fortnight or so ago, the whole place is very quiet and eerie, and I think it had a detremental affect on the attendance.

very true still not perfect but better to win ugly than lose. We showed signs of improvement during the game hopefully, but we need to cause we have got some tough games coming up. Im hearing alex szostak should be back from injury against barrow which will only add something to our team. Mossop and exton had great games but every one put in and done there bit. By the looks of it bergin should be our kicker for the rest of the season, other than his 1st kick he struck them very well.

There was me and the incumbent, she quite enjoyed it despite me having to explain all the rules, including the ones the ref doesn't know.

Seriously a good performance in what were difficult circumstances given recent local events. I'd pretty much echo what ESO said. Thought Mossop and Burnett were excellent and Peter Green stood up well. Three useful points and finally my firstwin at haven on five visits. Spending the week up here, sat outside a nice little inn up the hill from Bowland Bridge. There are much worse views from a pub than this.
