Hopefully there will be a good crowd as we have already sold 2500 tickets, granted the club are offering season ticket holders a free ticket but nonetheless its still a good amount. What do you think that the crowd will be come saturday?

If you have sold 2500 on top of your season ticket holders there should be a big crowd in, maybe even close to 5 figures which would be excellent!

I think it should say "2500 season ticket holders have claimed a freebie"

I think that allowing SL teason ticket holders in for free is a major blunder by the powers to be and I feel the same about us being allowed in free for the previous round.

Is the cup losing it's appeal? There seems to be even more offers on Wembley tickets this year.

Its rather unfair as by this draw we should have earned the extra revenue the game would bring.

Imagine if say Swinton, who arent amazingly well off, drew Wigan or Saints. The revenue from a game like this would keep them going for at least a year. As its quite local lots of Saints or Wigan fans would go but Swinton would miss out on a small fortune as all the season ticket holders can get a freebie.

The same went for Thatto Heath when they came to DVS.

To be blunt, i think it completely stinks!

Ditto, but as Airborne Eagle says, the cup is losing its appeal. Much like the FA Cup in football.

I'm sure that this "freebie" done by wigan comes out of wigan's own pocket and wouldn't affect sheffields income from the gate! I'd like to think that this was the case anyway

You're joking aren't you?! It's the RFL's initiative to try and get more people through the gates at CC games, in the last round any season ticket holder from Championship or Championship 1 was allowed in free, and in this round any season ticket holder from a SL club is allowed in free, meaning we are going to lose out financially.

It's insane n makes me reyt mad, what a crock. I'm not going for that very reason and I never miss a home game! I was so happy 2 draw Wigan thinking abt the money it would make for the club, only 2 find out the majority of Wigan fans won't be paying. I wasn't aware this was happening until just after the drawer!

I understand your sentiments, but what are you really achieving by not attending? It's not going to make a difference whether you turn up or not, the RFL aren't going to find out and it's not going to change their decision, if you want to attend the game then you should, also you're making the Eagles miss out on about a tenner :D
