Thought we were excellent. Corey Hanson in particular impressed me, didn't look out of place at all playing against the joint leaders of Super League, some very strong carries. Also Sam Scott seemed to get absolutely mullered with every tackle but got up every time and went in for some more which impressed me. Q was awesome and thoroughly deserved his hat-trick. I thought the referee was absolutely abysmal, he didn't blow for offside once throughout the whole game, only for standing in front of the kicker. At times there were players stood a full two yards in front of him, like directly in front of him it's not even as if he had to look down the line, and he still didn't blow up, add that to the whole drop-out/20m tap debacle and you have a shocking performance. Worst ref we've had this season, and he's supposed to be one of the best in Super League. Unreal.

Agree entirely. I've read the BBC report and their usual $upper League bias is there. I thought we were excellent, we made early errors and gave away early points on the back of them but the heads never went down. Our first try was lucky but the rest we worked for and earned. The gulf in class is there to see, Saints ball and line speed was the difference. But our effort and attitude was outstanding. Third tear running we've come up again top SL opposition and third time we've risen to it. The signs are good.
Thought the ref was very poor. Lots of things got left and petty things pinged. I know the speed of the game in SL is faster but the rules are the same.
Got told by Kyle Eastmond's mother that "my son hasn't gone to Bath for the money". You keep believing that if you want love, the several Saints fans I saw waving tenners at him clearly don't agree.

Came home very happy
Great performance from all but agree with ESO especially Q and the young 'uns but 1 - 17 all played a part. Nice to see Alex S back to full strength after his virus.
Just had a curry in Hillsborough and got thinking Eagles are like a good curry - red hot and in an hour I'll be wanting more.

Well done today, you played well and your support play was good. There was alot of offsides from both teams, lot of high tackles and grapple tackles, but, Ben Thaler just allowed the game to flow. He even tried to help you by tackling Francis Meli in his try, but got bounced off or as the Saints fans chanted " He fell over!". Hope you have a good season.

Great to see you at Widnes. Your support was very vocal which, as per the usual, contrasted to the Saints support which, er, ebbs and flows! Was well impressed with your no.6. A real talent. I was expecting to see Talepapa (sp?) in at no.1 as I'm sure I read somewhere that he has arrived in this country now after his visa problems? I am glad he wasn't there to be honest because I remember watching Sheffield on Tv in the playoffs last season and he was awesome. I'm not sure we could have handled too much more from Sheffield today; we were looking decidedly knackered at the end of that match!
I hope you enjoyed the game. Your team is looking good. I hope you go on to win some silverware this time around.
Good luck!
