Well having missed the last two home games due to work, and having given my Broncos v Rhinos ticket away (hadnt realised they`d swithched the dates)im looking forward to a trip down to the South West sunday. Hoping we will shore things up some what and deliver a good result. Dont get to many away but am treating this as a training run for York in September. C.O.Y.S. |

Excellent performance by the boys on Sunday. While the scoreline blew out towards the end it was a tough test with much of the first half being on the back foot. There was some excellent goal line defence to keep the All Golds out. Man of the match was Lamont with an all action performance at prop (and he was only spelled for about two minutes), although tbh everyone put in. Definitely one of the season's better performances. I have noticed since that Lamont has now passed 100 first grade appearances in his career so congratulations to him for that. Other than that it was a good trip. The Prince of Wales is a New River mini me, but the welcome was very friendly and it appeared well organised. Good to see Matt Bradley again too. Cheltenham is a nice town to visit although the ground and station are both a bit of a distance from the centre. My feet are now not in such great condition. A pub called The Strand at the top end of the High Street is highly recommended. Five different microbrewery beers being served (including one from Essex when we were there - good to travel halfway across the country to get local beer) and the food while we didn't partake this time looked great. |
