depends how many each team puts out. i suspect its more about the hit out than the win.

Final score 38-20.

Entertaining game on a 3/4G pitch. Skolars trialed a couple of young Widnes players who looked good. 8 or 9 first team players were not in the squad. Fast passing game made possible by the quality of the playing surface. Matt Bradley and Rob Thomas the pick of the players but all did well.

Oxford had a totally southern based team with the northern based players coming in for the first league game.

Confident that Skolars are going to push on from the successful 2013 season. :)

Maidenhead RFC have a good set up. Good day out.

Sounds like both teams were a little understrength, but a good result all the same. Tony Benson was incredibly positive about their chances for this year on Ian Ramsdale's podcast this week. We will see on 2nd March. Train tickets already booked.

The new lads in the squad looked good.
Thought Sam Druce showed well and posed a few problems for oxford.
Rob Thomas looked great on the ball but suffered for fitness in D.
Matt Bradley looked as though he will add some real class to the team
Ant Cox looked fit, solid in defense and powerful with ball in hand, you can see he's going to be an asset.
We looked weak on the left side but, as has already been said this wasn't a full 1st team.
All in all a good blast out at a great facility.

The pack is looking solid. However we need some outside backs.
