Does anyone have any idea when the NRC draw is due to be made? I am planning to be in London for the Broncos game with Wigan on Saturday 18 May (fingers crossed that happens at the scheduled time and place), and before booking a flight home it would be good to know whether the Skolars are going to be at home on the Sunday. |

Thanks for the information. I really don’t know, though, what the RFL are hoping to achieve by delaying this draw for so long; you’re surely never likely to get more people through the turnstiles by giving them less notice of the fixtures. (I know that technically the second Championship 1 qualifier is not known yet, but barring a miracle it will be North Wales; even if that were not the case, cup draws featuring the odd “A or B” are hardly unprecedented.) Leaving aside my own issue - the delay is costing me money as flight prices creep upwards - the Skolars are going to have a long journey north, or some other club will have a long journey to London; either way, supporters are being denied the opportunity to take full advantage of advance rail fares. To have a (scheduled) eight week gap between the end of the group stage and the start of the knockout phase, and then to only make the draw with around two and a half weeks notice, just seems bizarre to me. |
