Never written anything on here before but i guess the frustration has boiled over.
Another abject performance against Hunslet today, the same old mistakes ring true and it makes me honestly wonder what the point of the Skolars actually is?
I have been a season ticket holder for a couple of years now and watching the side for maybe five years and it has to be said Skolars are going backwards, 1st team performances week in , week out are embarassing and i guess the frustration is nothing seems to change. The whole club just seems overwhelmed with complacency. I used to enjoy games 3 years ago we might not have won every week but you went knowing you would see a competitive game of Rugby League whilst supporting the development of the game in the South, sadly its no longer the case you go only knowing defeat is guaranteed before you start, its just a case of by how many? Is that the way any club or group of supporters should honestly feel before going to a game?
We get the same comments in the programme or from the club every week, "we had hard luck hopefully things will improve". They won't unless someone makes brave steps to actually make them happen and at the moment the whole set up (first team wise) seems to be going through the motions. A coach who appears out of his depth, with no ability to motivate (i have sat listening to him behind at the back of the stand at home games), his only comment seems to be 'get the boys energised' after each try goes in against us, no passion, no anger, no constructive comment, no nothing... without that in competitive sport where are you? whats the point?
Sorry if this seems negative but the club wants to decide where it is going? As we are slowly becoming a completely and utter laughing stock and it needs saying. At present we have no hope of promoting a product and attracting new support to this great game whilst the team is completely and utterly inept.
Here's hoping one day we again see a competitve London Skolars team take to the field , at the moment it isn't and i see little change ahead unless drastic steps are taken.
I expect i will get shot down for these comments but at the end of the day someone has to say something, surely no one can be happy with what they see at every Skolars game?
And £12 to watch that standard of rugby is borderline criminal and will never attract new spectators, (i watched Hemel play Bramley last week, free admission and a couple of quid for a well produced programme and a friendly welcome and a competitive rugby match all of which don't exist at White Hart Lane Sports Centre)where are the marketing initiatives within London? A stall in Wood Green shopping centre, come on think bigger.
Sorry if this upsets anyone, i don't intend to... just had to get it out, i am a paying supporter after all who cares...
I feel for you swskolar. I'm a Blackpool Panthers fan from their inception and have been through rough times. A whole season losing every single league, cup and friendly match smarts a bit. I hope for better things for Skolars as have met some nice fans from there and enjoyed my visit before Challenge Cup final 2008. Keep the faith!!
I'm a York Fan but always have a real soft spot for the Skolars, I always enjoy a trip to London and am looking forward to coming down in July. The fact is your squad is simply not good enough, you have bags of talent and enthusiasm but you need to sign 3-4 really good top line pro's who have bags of experience at playing at a good level. They would pay dividends in bringing your good but slightly raw kids on. Paul Thorman is ok and you have a few Quins players on dual registration, but what you need is the March Brothers type of player, passionate ex Super League pro with still plenty to offer.

Part of the problem is that Skolars always claim that this season will be better, but things seem to get worse each season that goes by. Elite Skolars' incredible public statements don't exactly help - I still can't get my head round his description of the Skolars v Quins friendly match as an event established "on the capital's sporting calendar". Please! In all honesty just how many people who live in London actually knew the game was taking place!

Elite, I don't doubt that it is an event that is recognised by some - the London RL community, and I take my hat off to you for your organisation of it - however, I just had exception with the over the top comment.
I desparately want Skolars to do well, I have a Skolars season ticket as well as a Quins RL one. It just seems that promises are made of improvement that never happen and it's been all downhill since Latham left Skolars.
I must admit to think the London Challenge game is a brilliant marketing and publicity tool for the RL cause in London. It must be so frustrating being a Skolars fan though. Endless promices of Jam Tomorrow and every season worse than the last one! Hector needs to dig deep sign four top quality players to guide the cracking bunch of young enthusiastic but very raw players you have. Players like Graham Holroyd, the March Brothers that type of ruthless comitted ex top line Pro.

I've got a soft spot for Skolars. I think if you keep up the good work, keep your loyal fanbase growing slowly, you may meet us (Leigh) sooner than some people think.
