Noticed that Leigh seem to be getting the nod to overspend next year and I was wondering what the rules are with regard to you. Do have a dispensation on overseas players/Salary cap? If so, what are they? Good luck for 2010 and I hope your new coach manages to recruit some players that will help you get to the play-offs. |

Probably 17 Australians as you are in London. As usual anyone south of Sheffield is a 'Special Case'. |

To be fair to Skolars, I believe your coach Callum Irving, opted for less overseas' players last season - and you probably paid the penalty. What irritated most Leigh fans was Gateshead being able to sign four top notch Aussies, half way through the season, (including one who had featured in the 2008 NRL Grand Final, and 2009 World Club Championship) and class them as European pasport holders, as they had played in France. Good luck to Skolars - unlike their more illustrious London neighbours, they haven't had such good support from the RFL. |

I believe that there is going to more of a link up between Quins and Skolars esp with the age change in the reserve grade - academy (i think it has been changed to U/20's...correct me if I am wrong). Skolars are under the same rules as everyone else and do not have any special case in regards to overseas players. The days of the Aussie backpacker playing for Skolars is over. Overseas recruits will be quality recruits that fall under the RFL guidelines. You would of notice a massive decrease in oversea's imports across the league this season. I believe the RFL should limit each club to either 1 or 2 overseas imports as there is alot of talented young kids playing in the NRL U/20's who will be without a club next season. Playing in the NSW Cup or Qld Cup (Reserve Grade NRL) only offers a tease of NRL and playing for peanuts training 4 nights week and holding a job. Just my opinion on that matter. I think next season Skolars will be more competitive. They have a coach who understands London Rugby League, has been coach at the club before and has excellent links with the Quins. James will be a great asset to the club and i think the young kids like Smokie and Andre will benefit more through his coaching....the only way is up. |

You see watch them go. |

er....don't claim benefits. Never have never will. IF on the other hand you were trying to say that your taxes were somehow chaneled into the RFL (who in turn slip them to Quins) and not the inland revenue, I can only assume that your work doesn't involve electronic or sharp items. Jog on rupert...even changa and bazza are made to look good when compared to your offerings Anyway, good news from the Skolars and let's hope they can attract the calibre of player needed for 2010! |
