Post subject:  SKOLARS V WORKINGTON

Thought that the lads were going to do it to Workington again, but it was the same old story.....loose passing, sloppy handling and barn door tackles. We did well to keep Workington out for as long as we did and to get points on the board first....maybe we needed the weather that we had when we went up to Workington, sun, hail, snow (all before half time)

Nice to see Jy-mel in action, good forward action, ploughing in and pushing himself in the tackle....if only we had forwards that did this.....the big guys should take a look at themselves and be able to see where they are going wrong.
There were a couple of excellent try saving tackles and some good pick- ups from loose balls,

But why oh why do we throw stupid wide passes when we are so close to the line.....a quick intercept and the oppo are off and scoring. Stop trying to be flash ans stick to simple rugby, complete sets and listen for calls.

Workington were very beatable - we have proved that already this season.

Thursday is going to be tough, but I know that Skolars will keep ploughing on until the end. Not looking forward to the trip up there and back, but I am looking forward to the game.....just to see the Oldham team supporting pink hair.....hoping to get some good pics....
Boots n All gave our lads a good pitch tonight not running them down becuase of where they are in the table and in the South.

Great report by Sky Sports about the club.
One thing that does stand out is the amount of travelling that is done by the players both to get to training and getting to away games.
London traffic is terrible and travelling away every other week can be draining esp when you are need to leave at 7 am on game day and not get home till near midnight after playing.
I think most northern clubs forget this and I laugh when they have to travel down to London 1 or 2 times per year.
We have to travel every 2nd week and you will hear no complaints from Skolars.
I also thought that Jermaine handled himself quite well within the report.
Hope the boys put in a good effort tonight.
Next season can not come soon enough.

agreed....some of the lads leave before 7am to get to away games....
a number of the north based team make a weekend of it with their fans...come down saturday, go out for the evening then go to the game at skolars......i think it is a great idea.

regarding the game v oldham...as along as the lads put a good show of themselves...the score wont really matter....i know a win would be nice and miracles do happen. my poor little car has done some milage this season.......it deserves a nice rest in a garage......

ho hum bring on nextg season
