Post subject: | Murrayfield Weekend |
As most of you are aware, the wonderful Murrayfield weekend will soon be upon us. Unfortunately, this means that our away fixture at Skolars has been pencilled in for Monday May 4th (Bank Holiday). Myself and quite a few more Oldham fans would like the fixture to be brought forward 2 days to the Saturday which would make the match more appealling to travelling supporters (who wants to travel all that way and back on a Bank Holiday when most of us have got jobs to get up for the following morning?). It`s alright for the RL to dictate when our matches are played all because of Superleague but when NL teams lose out on much needed revenue, they are not interested in the slightest. Would you agree to the match being played on the 2nd instead?. |

No one agree then? . Never mind, it was worth a try. See you at Boundary Park. |

No offense mate....but it is up to the RLF to decide that change and I am pretty sure that both clubs would of agreed to the Monday game last year when discussions for the fixtures were announced. I am sure that players would rather play on a Saturday and have the rest of the weekend to chill out however the club would see this from the revenue side. I dont think anything will change for that date. Email the club if you wish to get a better response. |

Did one better and mentioned it to our coach TB. Lo and behold, we`ve been told today that the RFL have agreed to putting the match back 24 hours so we travel down to yours on the Sunday. Just goes to show what can happen when common sense prevails. See you on the 3rd May. |

Great response. Well done. I am sure that both clubs, fans and players would appricate this more than playing on the Monday. Well done Oldham!! |
