In light of the Leaders campaign to change the name to Wrexham Crusaders and the fact a petition has been handed into the club, an online petition has been set up, please sign it here and feel free to pass it on.

Please sign, another name change will do more harm than good

Why fight it? That's what the team is: WREXHAM Crusaders! A superleague team that plays in, and represents Wrexham! Let's be honest, it would only cost you about a dozen fans tops.
I think you'd be better served getting a petition going to get the Celtic off the banner on this page.

HOWEVER, I'd be very interested to see if Crucrucrusader follows up on his dramatic promise, made at the beginning of this season in answer to my own apparently precognitive observation, that if the club changed its name to Wrexham Crusaders, then he would ditch them.

I sorta already know the answer but would be amused to see the excuse for the flip flop.

As I recall, AJHworrier made a similar statement.

I can understand why some people want to change the name to Wrexham Crusaders.
Why not change it to North Wales Crusaders and widen your appeal across North Wales.

Grendel, I see your points however I think it would be a slap in the face of those who have supported the team in south wales for many years, I have only just got into rugby league but it is only thanks to those initial supporters we have a club. Wrexham crusaders would do more harm than good and alienate the south even more

its a big problem with this as many fans (some not cru) believe it should be wrexham crusaders as thats the town they play in plus the wrexham locals want that. on the other hand south wales cru fans and others want it to be crusaders as it would be an insult to them and they have got a point to. i think a good idea to be called the welsh crusaders if any agree with me i dont no.

Grendel, why the fascination with fans of the sport you have turned your back on?

What I do and when i do it is nobody else's business but my own. If the club do change the name to Wrexham Crusaders I can't see me continuing to support them but I don't think this is going to be a problem as changing the name to Wrexham Crusaders would be a backward step and I do not think for one second the RFL would let it go ahead.

Sounds like a mistake to me. Catalans Dragons, NZ Warriors. They should be your role models. The top of the tree for their region/country. A club that represents way more than just one town/city. Have a stable base in Wrexham forever by all means but why retreat into parochialism? It seems to go against everything the club should stand for.
