For all those coming to Huddersfield on Saturday, here is a suggestion for you. Set off an hour or so earlier than you had planned and visit the Rugby League Heritage Centre. It is located in the middle of the town, about 100 yards from the railway station in the basement of the George Hotel. In there you will find a large collection of items associated with the fascinating history of our game: digitised century old photographs, jerseys, boots, medals, trophies, newspaper cuttings and more. On sale is a decent selection of recently published books, magazines and DVDs and in charge will be the manager Sam who will be more than pleased to answer any questions. Admission to the centre is free and it will be open from 11 onwards. There are also four plasma screen TVs showing games from both sides of the equator, including some from the Thirties. Among the books on sale will be 'Ceisiadau yn y Cymoedd. Hanes rygbi'r cynghrair yng nghymru' in English and with a foreword by Jonathan Davies. |

Da Iawn Mr Lee ! I see someone has found the babelfish English-Welsh translation tool! or have they really translated 'Tries in the Valleys' into God's language? |

Tries in the Valleys was published in 1998 so I don't know if the babelfish translation facility was around then. Maybe the two lines in Welsh which are taken from the back cover of the book came from Trevor Foster, Clive Griffiths, John Mantle, Jim Mills, Mike Nicholas, David Watkins or Huw Richards though not from Tony Collins, Robert Gate, Michael O'Hare, Peter Lush or Dave Farrar, all of whom have contributed material to this 270 page book. |
