He managed (Noble) to survive the same school as myself which is no mean achievement. A big vote of thanks to John Dixon who laid the platform for Super League. I hope Nobby can persuade northern based players to come to Wales.
Knew it was coming and had acepted it. His most likely replacement Noble, is an excellent coach.
But John IS the Crusaders on the field. The chairman didn't give him anywhere near the wage cap to get players and he did what he could with what he had and he met the "twin impostors" of success and failure exactly the same except for a small smile when we won.
Good luck John. You kept your head when all about you were losing theirs.

Why? South Wales is a hot-bed of rugby league. Stevo said so himself, so there's no need to persuade anyone from northern England to head south.

Jonathan Davies made an interesting quote on the BBC website;
"He [Dixon] kept faith with a lot of the players that have brought him into the Super League," stated Davies.
"Unfortunately they weren't good enough and ultimately John has lost his job through it."
Do you guys agree? It seems like that from the outside, but, as a poster stated above, if he wasnt given the budget to bring players in what did the board expect to happen?

It would have been very interesting to see what John did with a bit of money if given the chance next season.
As it was I think he thought the players that got us here deserved their chance at the big time. As it was I think this led to his undoing, so to speak, or at least part of it.

WELSH RUGBY LEAGUE - PRIDE & PASSION IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY
As usual he wades in with his "opinions", but when asked to put his money where his mouth is and give everyone the benefit of his "vast" experience by getting his coaching badge, the whiny little poop slimes off.
