Hi We are travelling down for the match early Saturday morning. We are staying at the Wyndham Arms (Wetherspoons) but as check-in isn't until 2pm is there anywhere of interest locally we could visit? Also where does everyone tend to congregate pre-match for a drink? Cheers |

There's a couple of really nice beaches; Rest Bay in Porthcawl and Southerdown in..Southerndown. Couple of castles in the local area; Ogmore castle is ten minutes from Bridgend, Coity castle is less than five minutes from the centre of Bridgend. Both free to get in. The weather's not looking great though...so if you wanted to stay indoors, there's a big retail outlet just as you come off Junction 36 of the M4. Look for signs for 'McArthur Glen','Designer Park' or similar. If shopping's your thing then Cardiff city centre is probably better, but the designer village is alright to waste an hour or two...there's a cinema, few fast food places, and a Harvester restaurant there. Bridgend town centre's got a few decent restaurants; Italian, Indian, Tapas bars, but not sure what's open for lunch really. There's no reserves game, but you could always catch a local game of Union The Welsh Premiership kicks off on Saturday. Best place to go before the game is probably the Litten Tree, by the bus station in town, two minutes from the ground. |

anyone who wants to meet up for a pre match drink come join in we are a friendly bunch Yep, the car park at the ground is pay & display, and less than 5 minutes from Wetherspoons. There's a multi-storey two minutes away at the Rhiw shopping centre, and another pay and display at the top end of town. You could also park in Tesco next to the ground, but they say you can only park there for 2/3 hours, never stayed longer so not sure how/if they enforce it. May well see you in 'Spoons' at some point! |

Meast, you can also park just up from the ground (free), if you can't get in the car park by the ground, come back out of the ground and turn right back on to the road alongside the carpark, couple of hundred yards up the road, just as it turns into a dual carriageway branch off right and turbn right . You'll be facing a cash and carry (Bookers I think) you can park anywhere along the road alongside Bookers, the Peugeot garage or a little further down. Whetherspoons is five to ten mins away at most. |

Never used it, living two minutes away Hope to see you there...also, worth coming over to the new sports bar at the Brewery Field which is opening tomorrow as part of a massive refit. |

Meast, All Pay & Display car parks in Bridgend on the same tariff. 1hr 70p 2hrs £1:50 3hrs £2:50 And so on. Parking free after 6pm in P&Ds. Not expensive because let's face it, though it's home, there's not too many attractions for the casual visitor. And next year that's one less again! Oh apart from the witty banter and the good looking easy women (and the trolls of course - we cater for all tastes) |
