I can understand that the weather is out of everyone's control, but it seems unfortunate at best to be forfeiting matches. One suggested reason is for a break before play-off games, which seems a little cynical if true. The logistics of getting teenagers up country in midweek might also be an issue. But given the club's SL status, is this really good enough?

This isn't true. This is a problem with replaying the game though unless the season is extended. That's being decided tonight.

Phil Caplan, Media Manager for the Gillette National Youth League has just told me: "We are well aware with the fixture backlog caused by the worst winter for 20 years. This is a meeting of the management committee of the NYL tonight to discuss the options open to us."

The logisitics of getting kids up north mid-week is an issue and the game needs to be played on a weekend.

I was at Treorchy ready for the match Sunday.

Crusaders U-18's wanted it, the ref wanted it on, for some reason Leigh Miners didn't. There was rumour it was due to the injuries picked up the Thursday previously in the derby game but still weird considering the distance traveled. Then again if the games get wavered as it looks they might a team wins the league without playing it's main rivals which is no way to win it in my opinion.

I think the question should be more one of what happened to Leigh Miners Rangers?

They could have another 3/4 injured and still beat your lads

You are not thier main rivals , that would be Cumbria

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

How do you know this Mystic Starbug? Believe me when I say the Miners lot did not fancy it Sunday.

As for Cumbria being the main rivals, in terms of league position yes, but not in terms of percentage of games won and lost.

Even if we lost home and away to Leigh Miners we would probably be on the same points as Cumbria if not more.

If the wins are given to you it is a joke.

MINERS WERE WITHOUT 1 PLAYER FOR THE GAME LAST WEEKEND, HAS FOR NOT WANTING TO PLAY WHY WOULD WE TRAVEL ALL THAT WAY TO WANT A GAME TO BE CALLED OFF? WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE FOR NOT TRAVELLING WEDNESDAY?

ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL YOUTH WEBSITE LAST WEEKEND COUNTS HAS A DRAW, AND YOUR FAILURE TO TURN UP MID WEEK RESULTS IN A 18-0 WIN FOR LEIGH MINERS.

SO LEIGH MINERS ARE MINOR PREMIERS!!!

Crucru i to made the journey to Treorchy. It seemed to me Leigh Miners were more than happy for the game to be called off.

Oh well, Still the play offs.
