Warriors Devastate the Dragons

Catalans Dragons and Wigan Warriors came into this evengs match in Perpignan with two very differents agendas. For the home side it was important to build some momentum ahead of next Saturday's Challenge Cup final while avoiding any injuries to key personnel. For Wigan Warriors the win was important to maintain their push for a top two finish and a home tie in the play-offs as they seek a place in the Old Trafford showpiece.
The Dragons coach Steve McNamara made a host of changes to the side which lost heavily at Warrington in the Cup Final dress rehearsal last time out, but coach Wane had the luxury of naming the same seventeen which triumphed over Castelford Tigers in round twenty-four.

First of all a number of our players showed that they are not really up to-or for-it at present. Thornley had a very bad game and I was disappointed with Maria,Albert Edwards,Drinkwater-in the first half- and above all Anderson. Secondly our pack was second best and this led directly to some calamitous defensive organisation where our left flank simply disappeared. Our tendency to run out of the defensive line for no good reason was also manifest. With the return of Casty Simon Gigot Garcia And Mead we might be able to rise to the occasion next week ,but I am now very worried.Marks out of 10 Albert 4 Tierney 6 Thornley 3 Wiliame 5 Yaha 5 Drinkwaster 5 Langi 5 Moa 6 Mcilorum 6 Maria 5 Edwards 4 Jullien 6 Baitieri 6 -Interchange Bousquet 7 Da Costa 6 Anderson 3 young lad whose name I cannot remember 6
