One of the things that has really surprised me this season is that Catalans chose to sign Shane Perry and play him at seven.

The greatest period of Catalans success last year had Mogg at half-back alongside Bosc, yet that is completely out of the window now, seemingly never to be revisited.

This may have been brought about by injuries, with Mcguire moving to hooker (now his permanent position) and Mogg moving into seven.

he seemed a perfect foil for his partner Bosc. Thomas is reported quite a shy guy whose a bit quiet on the pitch, whereas Mogg is anything but. Indeed, it was plying alongside Moggy that saw Bosc really rise to prominence.

I just can't understand why no-one at the club realises that it is a partnership that works (which after all is what counts in the halves - you can sign the best halves in the world but if they don't work together well then you can forget it).

I'm pained to see Catalans performances this year and hope that someone comes to their senses and realises its not all about signing and playing players just because they are available but going with what is proven to work.

You're preaching to the converted here.

Seems bizarre to me. Needless tinkering.

Bosc + (Perry or Bird) in the halves. The other superfluous etranger to f- off back down under.
Next year, Bosc + an-other French half from UTC, or pinch one from TO if they are any good.

There is no long-term value to us in having Perry or Bird at our club.

Steady on Chaps! You are not pinching any of the Toulouse players from us! We need them all for the play offs at the end of the season. (However, Nathan Wynn, Brendan Worth, Constant Villegas, and a couple of others are coming good - but you ain't having em!!)

I think Casey is waisted at dummy half and is a true stand off with bosc at 7 .
Give Kane a run and Jean Phil Baile to hit it out for the best dummy half.

Bird at 13 and Mounis in the 2nd row as he doesn't run the ball much.

cheers
Dave

Sorry mate, but you're our feeder club. No point in you being in the Championship if it isn't to get players a taste of compettitive matches before joining us in SL.

I know you're right mate. Everybody wants to play at higher level and improve themselves, and I can't see anything but good in that ? Also it gives players a path to move up through the leagues and aspire to the top level, and hopefully put French RL on the map ?
