Thought I would share with those who aren't aware, the two sides determined in 1984 to constitute the greatest ever Catalan rugby league sides of the first 50 years. The first side was selected by a group of experts (the official side) and the second by fans of the club in a poll. The sides were:- Official Team... 1. Nogueres 2. Trescases 3. Comes 4. Mantoulan 5. Sire 6. Dejean 7. Greseque, I. 13. Levy 12. Pambrun 11. Cologni 10. Ulma 9. Porra 8. Delhoste Fans team... 1. Puig-Aubert 2. Trescases 3. Comes 4. Mantoulan 5. Bruzy, G. 6. Dejean 7. Greseque, I. 13. Laforgue, G. 12. Pambrun 11. Cologni 10. Ulma 9. Porra 8. Bruzy, A. Truly superb sides both of them.

Gaston Comes is, without doubt, one of my favourite players of all time. To see his stepping against Sydney in 1951 is to appreciate the true ballet that rugby league can be at its very best... A highly perceptive and deserved choice in both sides at centre.

Surprised Shane Perry hasn't made the list there!

I would have had Steve Bell over Comes any day too.

As a Queenslander, I would have to disagree...

Ivan was clearly the better player.
Although I do like Maxime...he will never fulfil his potential though it seems.

Good to see some authentic Catalan names in there.
