This little known competition is taking place over the next three weeks and is the latest competitiopn to arise from the RLEF. Morrocco beat Catalonia 29-6 Catalonia were without players like Aurelian Cologni and Bertezhene. For Morroco Younis Khattabi played at 6.
The competition also includes Belgium who play Catalonia next weekend.
Right heres how its going.... Scotland, Ireland, Lebanon, Wales, Russia and Serbia will play in the European Championships, the winner replaces the 4th placed team in the 4N next time it is held in Europe.
under that we have European Sheild a three way comp involving Czech Republic, Germany and Italy the Czechs pulled off a shock in the first game of that comp beating the vastly more experienced Germans 30-4.
Under that competition is the Euro Bowl comprising Latvia, Estonia and the Ukraine. This comp is due to kick off in the last week of July.
Finally we have the Euro-Med cup with Belgium, Morroco and Catalonia.
The morrocan side is comprised of French based players playing at around Elite 2 Level, Khattabi and one or two others aside.
On a serious note, is there no playoff between the outgoing 4N side and the Euro-Champ winner? If there isn't I see the value of rotation but surely the 4N side should be given a chance to maintain their spot?

Well next year the 4N is going to be held in Aus and the winner of this years pacific cup will replace the 4th placed nation in 2009, which is likely to be France.

It would be amusing to see what they did IF (big if) France did not finish bottom, judging by what we have seen over recent years, you could put your house on France finishing bottom.
Our Belgian Freind will be pleased to know that Belgium have beaten Catalonia 22-28 to set up a winner takes all match against Marocco August the 15th.
