Hunslet v Queens final for me. Thornhill are an unknown quantity but must have some decent players to get this far, i think Queens will have enough to beat them though. Having watched both Sharlston and hunslet this season i was more impressed with the old boys (versus Queens) than i was Sharlston (lost 30-0 to Drighlington) so i'm basing it on just two games. |

Thornhill beat Queens after extra time and the golden point by 30-31, queens were down to 10 men at one time, cheap shots, dropping on with the knees, ragging injured players off the floor and dropping them, when will Queens just play the game, they looked awesome when they knuckled down and just played, the speed of the play the ball and their distribution was a joy to watch but then they just have the usual brain fart. |

Decided to watch this game rather than the other semi and must say I got my 2 quids worth. You are right about Queens indiscipline but the referee was as poor as you'll ever see reffing a game of this magnitude. Made some baffling decisions and missed a pass that was 2-3 yards forward that allowed Thornhill to go 50 metres and score the winning drop goal in extra, extra time. Credit to Queens for playing the biggest part of the game with at most 11 men but as you said their indiscipline cost them in the end. Well done Thornhill. |

Credit to Queens for playing best part of the game with 11 men!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did they play the best part of the game with 11 men???? The last thing they deserve is credit. They are now on the decline and struggling to field a team some weeks! The sooner they fold the better for amateur rugby league! |

Hunslet won the final today. Decent match, 3 men sent off, 2 for Thornhill and 1 for Hunslet |

Once the hand-bags stopped (mid first half) and the little bit of biff leading up to the first sending off's the game settled down to be very entertaining, the first two sending off's benefitted Hunslet the most when the Thornhill 6 and Hunslet 10 both walked, (To be truthful the Thornhill 6 had started throwing a few cheap shots for the 10 minutes or so before hand). Looking at the result (20 - 16) you could point to two major periods in the game that tipped the scales in Hunslets favour, Thornhill had a very slow start that allowed the Old Boys to go over early and the sending off of Thornhills 6, On an completely neutral view I could not see anything wrong with the two disallowed Hunslet tries in the right corner in the 2nd half. Crowd recorded at 2,030 |
