Higginshaw are really playing some good rugby at the moment top division thisd year with all the hard games hard to call results. Whats wrogn with Eccles they were a very decent side when we played them early on must of lost some men

I watched pilks recs v higginshaw yesterday and to be honest higginshaw were very lucky to have te ref on there side. In all honestly they weren't that great and they only have 2 players that are an handle full, bald headed prop and the second row with Ginger hair. They got away with being offside, forward passes, laying on in tackles.

Pilks fought hard in the second half and deserved to be in the lead. I know the refs are going to make mistakes but that performance was a joke! If it wasn't for the ref favoring higginshaw, then they wouldn't have scored half the points they did. Anyway luck was on their side and that's just the was things go at this level.

+TBH mate at this level the refs arent great but Higginshaw have already proved this year they dont need the ref. Beat us (Leigh Central) and lost by 2 against New Springs they will challenge this year wait till they play you on there tight pitch at home they are a hand full then lol

I cant believe they beat you mate. Its always difficult to play against teams like that though when your on small pitches. I believe Irlam play on a small pitch too! Looks like its going to be a tough season for all the teams but New Springs are going strong and may walk away with it. Pilks have a very youthful team but they lack of experience may cost them when it comes down to nitty gritty games when you have to gind out results

No mate, Irlam and Cadishead share the same pitch and it is a big size.

They played very well against us mate played it down the middle completed a lot. We are like Pilks were a young smallish side so struggle against the bigger teams. As you say we played New Springs and they handed it too us we were good in defence smashed um and got it back but we let stupid mistakes 2 of kicks and a ball steal which they scored off. But tbh they are a claass side i cant see anybody beating them

You could cover that pitch at Higginshaw with a piece of paper, it's tiny. You have to walk over a perfectly good sized pitch to get to the pitch they play on too, obviously playing to their strengths. Save some energy for the walk back to the changing rooms after the game aswell it takes ages haha. Probably our best result of the season so far winning on their patch, considering the players we had out that day.

Another massive game for us next week against Pilks, had two great games with them last season.

its just that its are second team and if the first have injuries , holidays, suspensions and people working which we do most weeks then the 1st take priority - this season both teams haven't had the luxury to pick there strongest sides but that should be changing soon and once the 2nds get there strongest 17 out i'm sure they'll be more than a match for anyone in the league
