Turning up with 11 players makes the game harder and shows a great deal of commitment from the players who do it, week in and week out, for the love of the game. I would have a lot more respect for a team that does that than one who lets other teams down because their 'fringe players' don't fancy a run out.

It wasn't anything like that, over a season players will quit, players will get signed (we had 3), players will get bans and players will get injured. Combine all of those with a squad of 35 it left us with about 23 faces. What should Bridge do, take 13 to a NYL game and give the NWC 10, or take the strongest possible 17 available and leave the others out. Thought so . . .

I'm glad that you and your club are happily set up but...

Scholes Nutcase wrote:No but the NYL is more important than NWC 3 in which teams turn up with about 11 or 12 men each week. Its a sh!te league with sh!te players

I don't have a problem with you blowing your club's trumpet but it seems they didn't teach you sportsmanship. Unfortunately not all players have the same opportunities as you but they continue to play on regardless. It takes a better player to turn up week in and week out in a team of 11 than one who runs out with 17. A 'sh!te player' can hide in a big squad, but every player has to play a part in a team of 11. Don't be so disrespectful to other players and other clubs. It might not always run so smoothly for you - you never know what the future brings.

In fairness the sh!te player remark was out of order, but the issue reguarding the two teams had nothing to do with the players it was the coaches decision. Nothing the players could have done about it and believe me it upset some of the players, but for me it was a correct decision.

We (Skirlaugh Bulls) have definatly got a U18s team, as for what league we will enter we dont know.
Not much remains of last years Yorkshire Premier winning side.

A lot of clubs are in the same position with losing players to the pro game, should be pretty even this year.
