We are pleased to announce that the fixture lists for the Rugby League Conference South West Division and the inaugural West of England Division are now available to view on the
South West Rugby League site.
We have the eight teams from last year competing in the South West Division:
Devon Sharks
East Devon Eagles
Exeter Centurions
North Devon Raiders
Plymouth Titans
Somerset Vikings
South Dorset Giants
South Somerset Warriors
Five teams will be participating in the first season of the West of England Division as rugby league continues to spread its wings in the area:
Bristol Sonics 'A'
Gloucestershire Warriors
Oxford Cavaliers
Swindon St George
Wiltshire Wyverns
The County Championship Festival will provide the curtain raiser on May 2nd. Teams representing Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset & Somerset and Hampshire will all converge on Aretians RFC (tbc) in Bristol to start the season with a bang. More details to follow.
Both leagues follow a top 3 play-off format. Those finishing 2nd and 3rd in their respective leagues playing each other on August 6th for a place in the Grand Final where they will meet the league leaders on August 14th. The winners of each division's Grand Final will compete in the South West Rugby League Final on August 21st. The South West champions will then appear in the National Semi-Final on September 4th.
All is in place for an exciting season in a region with a constantly growing passion for rugby league. We hope any rugby fans in the area will support their local sides or even seek to participate on the pitch.
