Wigan coach Shaun Wane:
"I knew it was going to be tough. I'm just glad we're through to the next round. It was a real old-fashioned cup-tie.
"I know what it's like coming here. This is what the Cup is all about. I hope that lives with Featherstone for many years to come. I thought they were outstanding.
"I was uncomfortable. I've watched quite a bit of Featherstone and I knew they could play.

I'm from the age where teams used to dread playing at POR in the cup. Perhaps those days are returning

grief, when my mate 'ging dong' sees this he'll be leaping to the keyboard!!
Agreed wholeheartedly mate. When that ground has owt like a decent crowd hollaring at the opposition, creating noise etc, it can be a very intimidating please to be for the opposition.
Fans are 'right on top of the pitch' and so close to players they can't escape the noise coming at them!

That said, the wigan fans made their presence felt last night and contributed to what was a cracking experience for our lot!

Destination Super League??? Many say it's cobblers. Me? With this BoD we have I'm thinking owt is possible. It's happening. Just feel the vibe!

Went to pick up some tickets yesterday RFF and the ground was alive everyone you talked was upbeat,I said to the old man that I would not be surprised if we ran them close.

Don't know about the SL thing though mate,it would have to change format for me.

Great atmosphere. Great performance by Fev. Pity about the result, if the ball had bounced as kindly for us as it did for Hock, it'd maybe have been an even tighter score. Well played Fev.

Although, he did also say:

"I was disappointed with the pace of the game, I think the game was allowed to be played, no disrespect to Featherstone, at a Championship pace and that was a real disappointment to me."

Too true, i get a bit miffed by fans saying they dont want certain songs sung at games, bolx to that i say, make as much noise as possible and give the opposition players as much shiiiite as possible. No one liked playing at a packed post office road in the past, i think were just starting to get that back now

For me he made himself and his team look foolish saying that, he admitting they let a championship team dictate the pace, very poor

Good old fashioned local players showing pride and giving it all against the odds.As for played at championship pace you can only play as well as the opposition let you.Well done Fev.
