No arguing the toss this year - we won the league - we won the grand final. We are undisputed champions.
After the fire break and collapse in the second half and the sheer disappointment of losing in the manner - yesterday was one of the most professional performances of the season. In the rain the game became error ridden but by then the game was well and truly over. We started the season with so many injuries aand Daryl had to cobble together a team and lift morale to prep the lads for games. But as the season wore on Rovers became more confident, sharper and efficient and finished the season in the better shape than any of their rivals. Yersterday put right so many things but I did miss the other 3k or so supporters that would have been there if say Leigh or Fax had made it to the final.
I hope Leigh survive and become competitive. I hope Barrow get rid of Dez, get new competent BoD/Chair in place and become competitive. I hope Batley et al continue to surprise everyone. (though perhaps we should no longer be surprised).
I don't know why/how I manage some games - I feel so crapola watching fev sometimes, I get myself so wound up my blood pressure/guts/general health ends up in sheer turmoil.
So this morning I will indulge myself a little:-
FEV ROVERS :- 2011 Undisputed Champions!

You will contest the next 2 GF s against Fax , you will also win a NRC in the next 2 years as well , probably also against Fax , the only thing that will prevent that will be being drawn together in the semi's
Next season will be yourselves at the top , then Fax follwed by Batley/Sheffield , the rest will battle it out for places 5-10 in any order
This will make you the prime candidate for the promised SL licence in 2015 , but how will the RFL justify it if both Cas and Wakey finally come through on their promises ?

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

This isn't meant to be provocative Steve, but I don't think they will come through! Finding that kind of money in this sort of climate for 2 stadia isn't going to happen. I don't think even one will get built without some massive fiscal input which the 'source' is prepared to see virtually written off!!

I did say ' If '
The other issue then would be your attendances , as dominating a league as you will can also be counter productive on that score

Congratulations Fev, worth and deserving champions.
I'm hoping against reason that next years competition will be competitive with more than just Fev and Fax fighting it out. So good luck to all the other teams lets hope for a great 2012 Championship.

Cheers owd cock. Well Naturally I hope that Fev win the next 3 NRC cups and the next 3 Grand Finals. That's the nature of the beast. BUT - I would love us to have to scrap with 5-6 teams to win the league and there to be genuine competition across the championship where results are NOT foregone conclusions.

At the Mo Steve, neither do I. - Tho underestimate Batley at your peril. John Kear is recruiting well and will raise some eyebrows. I just hope Leigh find someone to stabalize the ship, give you the recruiting abilities and security for next season to consolodate and build. That Barrow don't get the @rse ripped out of their club - but Dez is given the hoof and a new BoD/chair brought in to do another recruit/secure/consolodate and build job. Both Leigh and Barrow do have a modicum of enthusiam amongst their locals and will travel enhancing the competition. Sheffield will continue being sheffield. - But York may add a bit to the comp given time. In some daft way - I just hope if the above happens the expected Fev/Fax dominance may not be as pronounced or as long as most think it will be.
