Not a permanent move but just for big games. A very good move by all concerned IMO.
And once the designs come out later on today i think you will agree. A very sexy design & it's fully funded too! If nothing else you would be silly not to use the training facilities, it's about time our region had the facilities we deserve.

Best of luck with it but no thanks, we'll still have the same deal (regarding the piece of land) as you have plus the bonus of still owning the ground we're at now and the 18 acres surrounding it

I don't see the point of a stadium move for fev though.
Fev doesn't have the population to play in the modern game, it's that simple. The championship is as high as you can ever hope for in reality, thats just the modern game.

Please don't take that the wrong way, i like Fev & come down the odd game if our season is over. But thats my view on things, you have put too much into Post Office Road to leave & will cripple yourselves moving even if you do own your ground and the land.

Ay up, we used to get bigger crowds than you lot every year in old 1st div and even after super league started when we were both in the same div. You only average around 5 k now with all the big away followings, we would easily match you in top flight for crowds. Dont forget the majority of Ponte and Ackworth as well as Sharlston follow Rovers, not to mention Knottingley and all the surrounding villages. In fact we probably have a bigger population to go at than what you do

So this new stadium is reliant on the rest of the development being a success , ie a take up of development land and buildings like hotels and such ?

Best of luck , you'll need it

the only place waky will be moving to is the championship when they get kicked out of super duper league. Its all another smokescreen to get another license after next year. They have been promising to have a new ground for ten years and are still at square one.

I believe you will find out that all concerned from Fev have no intention of buying into the proliferation of cobblers eminating from Rodney Walkers gob!!

As you're not a fan of Fev, then I'm not really fussed what your view is!
This is a Fev issue.

Yeh the modern game eh?? Where the facilities makes up a good deal of licence applications. Have a look at that "Championship" thing cos that's where your club may well end up. Talking to a chap last week with some good connections within the game, - it would appear that there are 2 SL clubs that won't be offered a licence next time around without new facilities to play in - immediately!!! - not at some mythical point in the future based on some nice drawings!! Though he wouldn't commit as to which clubs he meant I suspect Salford and Wakey - may well be a championship club in 2012!!
It'll be interesting to see how you view the game then!

The Fev board seem to recall their meetings with Wakefield being about exploring the idea of Trinity playing at Post Office Road

:D

Quote:"Under no circumstances are we discussing or even considering any type of ground-share or merger with our Wakefield neighbours," said Rovers chief executive Andy Prout.

"We met with the Wakefield chairman, initially with a view on our part to ascertain if they would join our stadium development project but it soon became apparent that they had made more progress on planning and development of the Newmarket site than we had anticipated.

"At a further meeting last week between myself and the Wakefield chairman, we agreed that both should proceed as planned in the interests of securing the future of the highest level of rugby league in West Yorkshire."
