Post subject: | More Fev info please |
Way back on 14 June I posted a request for information as to how to get from the railway station to the stadium. The information was supplied by 'Bootlace'. However, there have been some unforseen developments. Our original plan was to be at Headingley on Friday night to see Leeds v Warrington, Featherstone on Saturday night for Fev v Touloose and Castleford on Sunday for Cas v HKR. Unfortunately the *"+%^+"* at Sky, with only three weeks notice, switched the Leeds-Warrington game to Saturday, thereby scuttling our plans to see the Fev game. However, all is not lost. This morning I received a news e-mail from the club stating there is a reserve game on Saturday afternoon and a showing of the Fax v Fev game in the Altrium at 1.00pm. As we already have rail tickets for the journey to Featherstone, we intended visiting the town anyway on Saturday. What I would like to know is: is the Altrium at or near the stadium and will it be possible to get a bar lunch there? We would like to see the game on the big screen and possibly the first half of the reserve game before leaving for Headingley. Can a kind Fev fan fill us un? Thanke in advance. IG |

Right. The Atrium is the bar upstairs at the Stadium, you can access this once you get into the ground. The Reserves game will be a cracker, top V 3rd and Fev reserves needing to win all 3 games to make sure they stay top and win the league. Not sure about a bar lunch, they do usually have food on of some description but I have never actually been in there during the game as I usually have more pressing matters to take care of If not you can always get something to eat from the food stalls. If you wanted to watc the big screen and the reserve game you would have to sit in the window overlooking the pitch and keep turning round. If I was you I would just stay all night and watch the lot, Leeds are rubbish at the minute anyway |

Thanks Digger. We already have tickets for Headingley. We will get to the ground and see what turns up re: food. Looking forward to visiting the town of Featherstone at long last. (I agree Leeds are less than top class, but Warringbton may be good). Thanks for the info. If you hear two Scotish accents on Saturday, come over and say hello. |

There should be food available in the clubhouse (or Atrium, as it is now known). Give the club a call on 01977 702386 for further details. Hope you enjoy your day |

Hi St andys land, i read your letter in the Rugby League express about your disgust in the change of fixture day etc, i too think its terrible how we the fans get treated by those who dictate our sport, as for food ring the club on 01977 702386 to make enquiries cos i know there is going to be a meal served but i dont know the time, or you could always go to the Featherstone Hotel which is about 300 yards away from the train station in the opposite direction to the ground. |

Thanks, Tattoo and Bootlace. Yes, I, as well as you, Bootlace, and I'm sure thousands of fans are sick of the way Sky runs our game. As long as they keep dangling pound signs the RFL will keep asking: How high will I jump, sir?' Disgusting! Still, we hope to see a good game at Featherstone and I will 'phone the club to-morrow. Thanks again both for the info. |

Thanks to all the info, etc, we managed to get to the Chris Moyles stadium on Saturday. We were VERY favourably impressed with the whole setup. A very trim social club, an excellently maintained stadium and great steak pies! Even better; very friendly and helpful people. Unfortunately we were only able to see part of the reserve game - which we throughly enjoyed - and were sorry about the result of the later game; we thought Rovers would have won that one. All in all, apart from the weather, a very pleasant experience and we definitely hope to return to Featherstone for a full game, hopefully next season. All the best to the club. |
