This is the title of a book that has just been delivered to Graham in the club shop. It covers memories of West Yorkshire Rugby League and is based on interviews conducted for the 'Up And Under' oral history project at the University of Huddersfield. Among those interviewed are a number with a strong Featherstone link including Keith Bell, Jackie Blackburn, Keith Bridges, Ikram Butt, Malcolm Dixon, Peter Fox, Carl Gibson, Karl Harrison, Donald Hunt, Mick Morgan, Tommy Sales and also the referee Billy Thompson. A second book on the shelf now is the novel 'Braver Than The Rest. A Mother Fights For Her Son' written by Phillip Howard. Good enough for Ray French to describe it as "an excellent and moving read". They join about a dozen other books all about different aspects of the greatest game. Well worth looking at before you start your Christmas shopping.
Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."
