Lol. How on earth am I starting a Thread on this ?

I had a small wager and that will pay for the weekend away in the Wineries

Is it now that bad that there’s no Thread ?

I have lost interest

Amazing! Even the optimist Craig hkr has gone missing. Things must be bad. I think the realization that the current team, minus a few senior players, is what you’ll have to go with next season. It’s clear that this is not going to be good enough to compete. If there’s relegation next season, rovers are in big doo doo.

The defeats just blur into one after a while. Which is nice - it means we’ve only lost once since the Wigan game from my perspective!

If it survives the current and broader COVID crisis, the club desperately needs new direction. If we aren’t able to run a SL standard team, you start to wonder if we’re being spared relegation or denied it. The fear, for me and from a purely sporting perspective, isn’t so much the Championship but eventually getting there via a season like London’s in 2014.

All that said, there are things that can be done to improve or at least mitigate our situation. Hopefully the new chairperson, whoever they are, brings some fresh perspective, ideas and energy. I might make some suggestions later on to cheer myself up and give everyone else a laugh.

Limping to the finish line seems a very apt quote, unfortunately! We are getting overpowered in the forwards time after time after time. Lose the forward battle and lose the game is an old saying but so true. It,s no good having big lumps in there if they are no good, so they have got to have a level of talent, but this is getting dispiriting with loss after loss. TS has got a hard job and we have no choice but to back him in these difficult times. Be interesting to compare the pack sizes for each SL team to see how we compare, but it,s not looking good for us at the moment and worrying for next season unless something changes.

First off, I really hope Rovers can stay up. I like to see you get beat but when all is said and done, we’re both stronger with each other in the super league. That said, I’ll get back on topic. I actually would like to see the size comparison with other packs. I don’t think rovers lack size so much as they lack quality and a decent game plan. Some of rovers forwards are just second rate.

Tony Smith’s ‘throw it around and hope for the best’ is just not good. You score some good try’s but you won’t win anything with that game plan.

i would worry about the club you support ,like money spent and return = zilch ,unless adamski throws a few more fortunes at it you will remain the big club also rans

We’ll win the odd game here or there, when we have a really good day and our opponents have an off day, but nowhere near enough. On the other hand, we’ve got nowt else on which to hang a game plan.

It isn’t just size on paper, it is injuries and aggression. Tbf, I guess back in January Smith hoped Masoe, Garbutt would help pull some of the rest along. However, we started the season as favourites for relegation for a reason and Smith said he didn’t know how good the squad was.

The brief hope that we might have stumbled across something after the Wigan and Saints game has flickered out. You never know, we might turn over Salford if they’re distracted by the prospect of their cup final appearance but that’ll be a blip - we’re far enough in to recognise the norm now.

Ahhh well, it is only a game.
