So the decision as to whether to allow Toronto back into Super League has been deferred to allow them more time for their application to be considered. Personally, if they are allowed back next season I think that would be a disgrace. Players lost employment, income and everything that comes with that, while other clubs had to deal with the fallout(not dismissing the effect of Covid). This would set a precedent that could be replicated by others at the first sign of difficulty and should not be allowed. For what it,s worth and my preference would be stick with 11 clubs for next season, any Sky money split 11 ways, not 12.Toronto don,t deserve it, and bring no support. Clubs need as much as possible in these difficult times to survive and Toronto had their chance and blew it. After next season, and no relegation, which gives clubs an element of stability and security for players, promotion should be given to the one of the Championship clubs each season until SL has 14 teams. I know this has been mentioned before, but letting Toronto back is a kick in the teeth for clubs that are struggling but doing their best.

I’m not anti-expansion at all, but I don’t think it’d be sensible or appropriate for Toronto to retain a SL place under the circumstances.
I am a bit worried about how many clubs will make the starting line in 2021. For now we have to plan for the existing 11, of course, but sadly I think SL would be wise to make contingencies for a smaller number.
