With Mitch leaving at the end of the season, the HDM seems to think that TS will be focusing on "mobile" forwards. Really hope we don,t fall into the trap again of settling for small lightweight forwards who usually get smashed by other teams much bigger guys. Even with the impending rule changes, small ones get beaten up by big ones We have been here before, and it,s cost us big time. and.It doesn,t work. RL is a heavy contact sport. Yes you need mobility, but you must have a big pack with some size, or you will more than likely lose. Smart recruitment, as always, is needed. Hope the club learns from previous mistakes.

I think it’s as much a cost saving exercise as anything else.

Fingers crossed. The prospect of us going mobile again would be worrying. I wouldn’t set much store by the HDM’s speculations, but we have a track record of building underpowered packs in recent seasons under different coaching regimes. Tony Smith’s 2008 4-prop World Cup Squad shows it’s something he’s been open to it in the past - it went about as well as we’ve learned to expect, as well. With another of the players we’ve relied on to counterbalance our ‘mobility’, we’re in need of someone like for like, imo - ideally who can be reasonably expected to play 20+ games barring accidents.

19 appearances from a possible 50, mostly off the bench, tells its own story.

Quality player on his day, doesn’t have his day often enough.

Replacement already signed from within SL

Big and mobile
