Scruton retires on the advice of his surgeon and Jewitt to take some time out from the game - similar to Heffernan’s plan, perhaps.

Sad and difficult time for them both, I imagine.

Thanks for your efforts gents.

Heff has time on his side whereas Jewitt is the wrong side of 30 and if he gets a job in the area he wants to I can’t see him returning to the game that’s the sixth player in recent times that have retired for one reason or another

A real shame but something had to give. Wish them both well

Both great blokes but we need senior pro's on the field.

Assume the move has been made in part to allow someone(s) to come into the club. Any ideas as to who that could be?

I have no idea but having watched the summer bash there are a lot of big forwards who could step up & would be worth a punt..

Always sad when a player has to give up on medical grounds. Hope they both enjoy better health in retirement.

Tough decisions but the right one's. Great efforts from both of them but the club's performance now and in the future is first and foremost.

I wonder if we'd beaten Huddersfield, this wouldn't have been announced.

Didn't watch much of the bash but watching Bradford v Leeds I was really impressed with Steve Crossley. Bit of a throwback prop to look at but he made great yards and didn't half get through some work. Ross Peltier looked to have something about him aswell. If you are looking for someone to take a punt on to replace Scruton and Jewitt then you could do a lot worse.
