Not seen any real quality from him so far with us but it's harsh to judge him on a few middle 8 games. Didn't pull up any trees at Cats or Salford as I recall? How many games would you hope to get out of him and McGuire next season? Big chunk of cap for the risk. So probably no from me but if Sheens deems otherwise then fine

Difficult to judge - he came in having not played for quite a while, and picked up an injury fairly quickly.

With Quinlan out long-term, and McGuire and Lunt unlikely to be ever presents, I think we do need to strengthen the spine. Arguably, more gambles spreads risk rather than adding to it. Worth exploring, but so are other options.

I’ll say yes, but i’ll say it wondering about Abdul and Drinkwater.

Abdull is not a SL quality half.Never will be. Not convinced he's that good a forward either? Championship player

I think we will sign a fullback, even if not dagger is the extra pivot role so that's covered. Do think we need a half though and go with 3, maguire just wont do 20+ games.

Carney says him self that sheens get's the best out of him, so I would not be massively surprised if he does. One thing I think we have seen is that his long kicking game is far superior then anyone else at the club. It would be good to see him get over for a try or a silky assist and i suspect we see his confidence rise.

Personally though - drinkwater would be the go to.

Either way we need a 3rd HB

I would not waste a quota spot on Carney as I think his best days are well behind him. I would go for an experienced back up half/hooker like Liam Finn did this season or stick with Lee & take a gamble on a promising youngster as we did with Atkin, My logic is use quota &/or cash on a pair of big nasty monsters up front! Theory being if they take us forward in & boss the opposition even our academy half could direct the attack.

I think we have enough quota spaces for both.

As for Liam Finn, theres a reason he ended up at widnes then newcastle next year. Not what we should be aspiring too imo

Deffo not worth signing, missed a lot of matches in recent years at cats and salford and your lifestyle catches up with you the older we get.Struggled to get fit and stay fit with us,its another campese situation.imo.As for liam finn,we would be better off with mickey finn.

We had a chance to sign drinkwater 2 seasons ago but we only offered a 6 month contract as with carney and he stayed in oz and played with the west tigers reserve grade and was their player of the year.I felt we missed a trick then and he would be miles better bet than carney etc.He made a huge difference to cats and would be a good signing for us,plays plenty of games, which maguire sadly wont be able to,him and atkins sounds good to me.
